200E: A Webtoons Series

200E is a series I created on webtoons starting in July 2022. The premise of the story is:

The year is 2022. In the city of New Kisha, crime and violence is on the rise. Darkwing, a masked vigilante seeks to uncover secrets behind the notorious anti-mutant organization; AMOP. AMOP plans to carry out plans to eradicate all mutants and other “non” humans in the world; Darkwing seeks to stop this at all cost. But during a night, Darkwing encounters the girl of fire: Ari Thi-Ahn. From this point, the dynamic of the world and both Ari and Darkwing’s lives change forever. Read and uncover the mystery of this world plagued with war, crime and mutants!

200E is a huge passion project of mine I have been developing since July 2022. The major inspirations for this is my love for Japanese manga works such as Battle Angel Alita, Attack on Titan, Berserk, Fruits Basket and Chainsawman. It also takes a lot of inspiration from comic works such as MARVEL’s XMEN and DC’s Batfamily.

What is The Story About?

The story is one about how people from very different worlds can handle a changing world. And how both of their stories are determined from their circumstances and mindsets given.

Ari Thi-Ahn, for example; is a 17 year old teenager who is dragged into the world of 200E when the powerful entity, Vi, takes over her body against her will. She struggles mightly with PTSD and Survivor’s Guilt following the tragic death of her mother as a child. She grows up being bullied over parts of her ethnicity, her more reserved and angry nature and her disability. Despite this, she never once blames the world and only wants peace for everyone but herself. But, she is forced in the story to make a choice on what person she will be, thanks to the unholy takeover by Vi.

Darkwing, on the other hand; is a masked vigilante who has been on the run trying to uncover the actions and leadership behind AMOP [The biggest anti-mutant cult]. They have been in a constant war with both themselves and the very people they seek to defend, as their journey to stop the rise of AMOP and other terrorists begins to change their entire view on what is right and wrong.

Creation of The Story:

Chapter 8: The Untwinned Sisters Part I: *Page 1 Sketch*

I use Clip Studio Paint Pro 2.0 For Sketching, Storyboards, Coloring, Linework and Final Typography for the Comic.

Using the ‘comic’ template on Clip Studio, I use a 257 × 364 mm Outline with a 210 × 297 mm trim size. The first thing I do before writing a chapter is I do storyboards and scripts on paper. This way I can get my ideals flowing and put on paper in a manner that makes it easier than doing it just in Clip Studio. Once this finishes, I begin to sketch in multiple layers [seen above] until I have a final sketch layer.

From there, I begin to create my linework layers made with the ‘Real G-Pen’ . After that, using G-Pen, Gouache Paint or Real Pencil; I begin to color and highlight underneath until the page is the right texture and color to my vision. After all of the pages are done and colored, I do one final checkup for the art before I do final text uploads.

Then I export the files as “webtoon” file from Clip Studio.
